The Berlin-based association aims to create visibility, education, and acceptance for a sexual practice \u2013 especially within the gay community, but also beyond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFisting is more than just a sexual technique \u2013 it is an expression of intimacy, trust, and freedom. The double number \u2013 05.05. \u2013 appears striking, clear, and easily communicable. The day is intended to stand worldwide as a symbol for a form of sexual intimacy that is often lived privately but is firmly rooted in many queer realities of life.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Distinction from October 21st<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The already existing \u201cInternational Fisting Day\u201d (October 21st) was initiated in the USA in 2011 and primarily addresses censorship and representation in pornography. May 5th, however, focuses on the lived practice within the global gay community \u2013 with all its facets, cultural differences, and personal meanings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur goal is not competition, but complementarity. We are creating a day that arises from the heart of the community \u2013 visible, open, self-confident, and respectful\u201d, says Balian Richter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe invite media, sexual health organizations, and the community to use May 5th as an impetus for well-founded education\u201d, Richter continues. \u201cThis day should be an annual event to emphasize the importance of knowledge, safety, and consent in the context of fisting worldwide.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The club plans to support this day in the future with its own activities and information resources.
