Fist Club Europe E.V. Declares may 5th as “International Fisting Day”

Berlin, April 25, 2025

Berlin, May 5, 2025 – Fist Club Europe e.V. officially launches May 5th as the new “International Fisting Day”. The Berlin-based association aims to create visibility, education, and acceptance for a sexual practice – especially within the gay community, but also beyond.

“Fisting is more than just a sexual technique – it is an expression of intimacy, trust, and freedom. May 5th should be a day when we make this practice visible with respect, pride, and education”, explains Balian Richter, press spokesman for Fist Club Europe.

A New Day for Bodily Autonomy and Sexual Diversity

Fisting is a physically intensive practice that requires a high degree of communication, consent, and trust.

“We see an urgent need not only to increase visibility but, above all, to actively dismantle myths and enable an objective, health-conscious discourse about fisting that is based on facts”, says Balian Richter, press spokesman for Fist Club Europe e.V.

Why May 5th?

The choice of date is no coincidence: the number 5 symbolizes the five fingers of the hand – the central element of this practice. The double number – 05.05. – appears striking, clear, and easily communicable. The day is intended to stand worldwide as a symbol for a form of sexual intimacy that is often lived privately but is firmly rooted in many queer realities of life.

Distinction from October 21st

The already existing “International Fisting Day” (October 21st) was initiated in the USA in 2011 and primarily addresses censorship and representation in pornography. May 5th, however, focuses on the lived practice within the global gay community – with all its facets, cultural differences, and personal meanings.

“Our goal is not competition, but complementarity. We are creating a day that arises from the heart of the community – visible, open, self-confident, and respectful”, says Balian Richter.

“We invite media, sexual health organizations, and the community to use May 5th as an impetus for well-founded education”, Richter continues. “This day should be an annual event to emphasize the importance of knowledge, safety, and consent in the context of fisting worldwide.”

The club plans to support this day in the future with its own activities and information resources. Further information can be found on the website www.fistingday.org.

We would be delighted if this day were publicized through accompanying reports. Should further information or materials be required for your editorial office, we will gladly provide them.

Today is the First International Fisting Day – for all who Want to Know more.

Berlin, May 5, 2025

With today, May 5th, Fist Club Europe e.V. is launching the International Fisting Day. The aim is to bring a rarely publicly discussed sexual practice out of the shadows – not with a wagging finger, but with openness, expertise, and respect.

We don’t want to convert, shock, or embarrass anyone. Our sole aim is to offer a platform to people who genuinely want to engage with the topic of fisting – whether gay, straight, or somewhere in between”, explains press spokesman Balian Richter.

The Berlin-based association understands fisting not just as a technique, but as an expression of intimacy, trust, and sexual self-determination.

The choice of date is no coincidence: the number 5 symbolizes the five fingers of the hand – the central element of this practice. May 5th – with its symbolic double five – marks a day that stands for a form of physical intimacy that is firmly rooted in many individual sexualities and yet is rarely named publicly.

Education instead of alarmism – and respect for curiosity

Fisting requires a high degree of communication, consent, and hygienic knowledge. This is precisely where Fist Club Europe e.V. comes in: with information offerings and digital formats based on sound knowledge and practical experience. “We do not rely on provocation, but on reliability. Our concern is to provide orientation to interested people – without drama, without clichés”, says Richter.

The association explicitly addresses people of all sexual orientations who are curious, have questions, or have already gained experience. “Our goal is not to make fisting mainstream. Our goal is to educate – for those who truly want to know more “, Richter continues.

A Day for Knowledge, Respect, and Sexual Autonomy

The International Fisting Day sees itself as an initiative from the community – open and objective. In the future, it will serve annually to convey factual information about safe practices, consent, physical prerequisites, and emotional aspects.

Because those who are informed can make conscious decisions – for their own body, their own boundaries, and their own pleasure.

Founding of Fist Club Europe E.V. – Education, Community, and Networking for an Often Taboo Sexual Practice

Berlin, April 11, 2025

With the founding of Fist Club Europe e.V. in Berlin, a new point of contact is emerging for people who advocate for an open, respectful, and safe approach to the sexual practice of anal fisting. While other sexual practices have increasingly been de-tabooed in recent years, anal fisting often remains excluded from public perception.

This is not only due to prejudices or ignorance, but also to the fact that the societal engagement with sexual topics is usually shaped by conventions, media trends, or heteronormative narratives. “Our goal is to provide well-founded knowledge, break down prejudices, and create a protected space for exchange within the community,” explains Balian Richter, press spokesman for the association. “Analfisting is often misunderstood or treated as a niche topic, yet it is a practice with a long tradition in many communities – especially among gay men. At the same time, it is also gaining increasing importance in heterosexual circles.

The association is involved in the following areas:

  • Education & Prevention – Providing scientifically sound information on hygiene, health aspects, and safe practices to minimize risks and raise awareness for responsible consent.
  • Community & Networking – Building an open, supportive community that enables exchange and shares experiences.
  • Advocacy – Promoting the visibility and acceptance of the practice in public, as well as being a strong voice for the community towards societal and political actors.
  • Events & Courses – Organizing workshops, meetings, and social events to impart knowledge and experiences.

The association’s official website will soon go online, where both absolute beginners and experienced practitioners can find comprehensive information and guidance. In addition, structured online courses are planned to enable interested parties to engage with the topic in a protected environment – regardless of experience or prior knowledge.

In the long term, the platform will offer networking opportunities for interested parties worldwide to bring people with common interests together. The association particularly targets gay men, but also advocates for a broader societal engagement with the topic. Interest in anal fisting is also growing in heterosexual circles, which is why Fist Club Europe e.V. specifically provides education and assistance for everyone who wants to engage with this practice responsibly and informedly.

Furthermore, the association is available as a competent contact for media and specialist portals. Whether guest articles, interviews, or specialist contributions – Fist Club Europe e.V. offers well-founded expertise and a nuanced perspective on topics such as sexual health, education, and community work.

May 5th, as the International Fisting Day, initiated by our association, is specifically intended to disseminate well-founded knowledge about safe practices, hygiene, and consent, and to serve as a point of contact for questions. We want to close a gap by pooling resources and creating a reliable platform for education and prevention.”
